Still waiting for your state refund check?
Looking up your state tax refund status online from any state is easy and free.
Just click the link with your state's name from the list below and you will be directed to a page where you can check your state tax refund status right away.
Most states will only have refund information from the current tax year, but a few states will also have prior year or amended return refund status.
What will you need to have with you when you check your refund status online?
You will definitely need your Social Security number and refund amount. Some states will also ask for more information like filing status, address, zip code, or form name. If you have a copy of your state tax return with you, you should have all information you need.
To be able to access the tax refund status screen some states will ask you to install Silverlight (a program) or create a login.
Not all states have an online refund status checker, but those that do not will supply an automated refund hotline number.
Please note that refund information is not available immediately. Depending on your state it can take as fast as 24 hours or as long as 7 to 10 days after your e-filed return is accepted, and even weeks for mailed in returns.
So here's the list, freshly updated for the 2014 tax year (that will get filed in 2015). All links are checked for accuracy for easy refund look-up.
