Earned Income Tax Credit Calculators
Here we have two calculators that will calculate the earned income credit for you. The red calculator is for married filing joint return and the blue one is for single, head of household, qualifying widow(er). So you will need to use the correct one for your filing status.
Using the calculator is easy. Simply select the amount of qualifying children from the list, enter your earned income in the text box, and press "Calculate". You will now get your estimated earned income credit amount.
Now that you have your federal earned income credit amount you can check if your state has an EITC and how much it is.
to see if your state has the EIC and how to calculate it.
Why is the amount sometimes slightly different than the one on the earned income credit table? The amounts with the EITC calculators follow the exact IRS formula to the dollar. The EIC chart, on the other hand, has the income amount in 50 dollar increments. This makes every $50 have the same average amount of EITC unlike the calculator which has a different amount for every dollar amount of income.
